playoff summaries
Quarter-Finals
Game 1 -The Blues were coming off a division championship with an undefeated 13-0-1 season and drew the Maple Wolverines in the first round who gave the club problems during there 2nd match up(6-5 come from behind Blues win) during the regular season. The Blues came out very strong on this night with the Wolverines having limited chances. With an OHL ringer between the pipes the Wolverines were hanging in there but early in the second period the Palmanator setup Kevin Semerdjian(1st) in the slot and the Blues never looked back. YRB added goals from Mike "M&M" Martellacci(1st) and Sal "The Man" Guinta(1st). The Blues played a complete game on this night and held a marginal shot difference in the game.

Game 2
- This game was over before it started as the Wolverines did not have there OHL stud in net(Iafrate) but the truth is that there regular goalie kept them in the game. The blues should have won this game by double digits but the club showed class and took it easy in the second half. Goals from Kevin Semerdjian(2nd,3rd) Mimmo Commisso(1st) Hollywood sierramariani(1st and 2nd) and Roger Dischiavo(1st) gave the blues a commanding sweep of this series. The Blues move on to face the Hurricanes in the semi-finals and are a big favorite heading into this series.
Semi- Finals
Game 1 - The Blues came out gunning this game and showed the Hurricanes who have been very successful over the past few years that YRB was on a mission. The Hurricanes were held to less than 10 shots and the Blues were firing on all cylinders. Goals from Tata Iampieri(1st), The ageless one Corinto Iampieri(1st), Hollywood sierramariani(3rd, 4th), Louigi Iampieri(1st) gave the Blues a runaway 5-2 victory. The Blues are right on track towards a championship and are looking to sweep the Canes.

Game 2
- This was the first time all year that the club looked flat in warmup, flat on the bench and flat period. The Canes score 2 goals the first minute and there bench was on fire. The Blues were missing Hopkins, Lui Iampieri, Chris Soragnese and Roger DiSchiavo and that's a lot of depth out of the lineup. Corinto Iampieri(2nd) scored a beauty to make the game a tight affair at
2-1 but the Hurricanes bounced back on a powerplay to give them a 2 goal lead again. Mr. Playoff Frank "The Tank" Russo cut the score to 3-2 late but it was just not meant to be. The Blues now face an elimination game and a strong reality of getting upset by the Hurricanes who should have never been let off the mat.

Game 3
- Jesus Murphy I never thought it would happen. But the Blues minus MVP Corinto Iampieri just fell short. The Hurricanes once again had no attack all game and had no more than 6-8 shots all game but they scored when they had to. The Blues opened the scoring with the return of "tkachuk" Soragnese(1st) to the lineup and things were looking good. But the Hurricanes scored a back breaker late in the first half and the game was tied at the end of one period. One defensive break down early in the second probably ended the season as the Hurricanes star player made no mistake on Moro to give the Canes a lead they would not relinquish. It was a good season but the club choked let's just face it. On mere talent this was a mismatch. But the Hurricanes showed why they are always successful. HEART!!!!
